Darek Tybińkowski
In the past a professional theatre and musical dancer, currently a tango lover and teacher, TDJ and in the past co-organizer of the milonga at the GKO Casino and the Łódź Milonga “Prząśniczka”. My musical preferences range from La Guardia Nueva (1925-1955) to La vanguardia (1955-1970). I adjust the repertoire to the taste of my audience, as well as to the theme of the tango event. I choose pieces and tandas that are primarily intended to awaken positive energy on the dance floor, while at the same time evoking sensuality and passion in the movements of the dancers.

Vincent van 't Laar
Vincent is a passionate dancer, DJ and organizer. In Eindhoven, together with his wife Stefania, he organizes the Ventarrón milonga and, as a board member of the non-profit organization Tipo Tango, he actively supports the development of Argentine tango in the Netherlands. His love of dance, his experience as an organizer and his marathon dancing endurance make him perfectly understand the key role of a DJ – sensing the energy on the dance floor and creating smooth, harmonious transitions between orchestras and singers from the golden era of tango in the 30s, 40s and 50s. When he stands behind the console, the dance floor comes alive!

My focus as a tango DJ is on creating a curated musical experience. I prioritize a blend of classic tango orchestras, carefully selecting tracks to ensure a smooth and engaging flow for dancers. My experience as a tango dancer and a keen observer provides me with a unique understanding of the music’s role in the social dance. I aim to create sets that are both technically sound and emotionally resonant, contributing to a positive and dynamic atmosphere for the event. I have performed at various tango events throughout Europe.

Every single tango I’m putting on should offer something new to the milonga. I’m trying to avoid any exaggeration to be able to keep good mood through the whole evening. Looking for the perfect tandas and the perfect time to unleash the strength of the music recorded even nine decades ago. Following no strict rules, but ideas gained by listening, dancing and studying the genre and its history.

I was born in Zagreb and have lived there my whole life. It was through tango that I really started frequently traveling around the world, which enriched my life greatly! Dancing is my primary focus in tango, but I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to play music internationally so it stuck with me for over 15 years by now. Having a musical background (music school) helps me physically and emotionally feel the music in a very deep way. I try to convey this my specific way, in the ronda and from the DJ console. A good variety of music is my only rule when selecting the next tanda, the rest I get back from the dancers around me. What I received from tango is beautiful and by DJing I try to give something back to the community.

My adventure with tango began over a decade ago and over time it began to turn into a passion. As I deepened my awareness and knowledge of dance and music, I felt the desire to be a DJ and share my choices of orchestras and songs. As a TDJ, I play traditional music, but in order to meet the musical expectations of all those present, I often use interpretations by artists other than Golden Era. My favorite orchestras??? Hmm, I love them all, but I don’t play them all at the milonga.
